NonStopTuning’s 10th Anniversary: Part 2

10 years and still putting in work! NonStopTuning has been a driving force in the Texas car scene for what seems like forever. Come out to a LoneStarDrift event and you’ll be hard pressed to find a car not rocking one of their parts or at least sporting their logo decal. It’d been a long time coming and with Formula D right around the bend, NonStopTuning has no intention of slowing down.

The same can also be said for the Lone star Drift brand. With a huge number of entrants to this first round, the ProAM and TXSL series both had a good roster of competing cars ready to rip the track. It’s going to be a good year.

NODRFT – End of Year bash

I’ve been back in the United States for a little over two years now. Previously, the only competitive drifting I had seen in person was the occasional stuff held by the local Guam boys at our fresh little skid pad in Yigo, and that seemed to be a once in a blue moon thing. Once I got over to the mainland, I was able to fanboy over a bunch of fancy skid chariots on an absurdly regular basis. It’s gotten me kinda lazy as I now realize that I’ve never had to even leave the state to get satiated. Cue NODRFT’s End of Year Bash.

Travel 5 hours for one day with my fragile new camera in 110% chance of cold ass rain? Ya Goddamn right.

2014 Lone Star Bash: A Snippet

Everytime I sign up for a grassroots drift event, I hear this imaginary voice saying, “Hey, you’re going to drive, not take pictures. You need the seat time! Don’t bring the camera! Why are you packing a telephoto?!” It further devolves into creepier depths of schizofrenia, but I always end up checking out of the conversation all the same. In retrospect, this is probably part of why I still suck at drifting.

Time is a constantly changing variable that progresses on a linear path. Whether we like it or not, it’s always moving forward, and we cant help but plot our own positions in relation to that ever lengthening x-axis. To put it simply, some things change and some things stay the same. In our case, the watermark is new and the pictures are hgher-res, but we’re still gonna be those awkward nerds with big cameras.
